Artist

I most like to paint outside, the test of the changing light and the brightness of the real world is the most exacting. But in the Scottish winter I cycle down to Edinburgh Printmakers and use their big screen presses or I work from the Toyota Yaris parked on a cliff.

I went to art school at Winchester, Bristol and the Royal College years ago and I have been a designer for thirty five years but now call myself an artist. In 2025 I went back to college and did a years painting course at Leith School of Art which greatly accelerated my practice, developing oils and larger scale work.

I try to get out cycling on the Cinelli Estrada Pro for a ride twice a week in the summer. The Edinburgh winters see me trying to enjoy fake cycling indoors.

I work away at my cycling and art but professional contracts have only come from painting commissions, screen prints, illustration, and oil paintings, nothing from Ineos.

I have lots of happy clients, my work is shown in several galleries in Edinburgh and I’d be keen to take on any interesting commissions you think I might get on with.

Please send me enthusiastic emails on cycling, art, or both.
